John Paul spent four years at the Laird School of Art back in the 1970s with Photography and Design. The crazy rollercoaster years that followed including 12 years working as a photographer on the Kensington Palace Royal Rota with HRH Diana Princess of Wales are well documented in the autobiography I Saw Her Standing There. JP has also featured on television, radio and as a real life character in Blake Morrison’s collection of stories entitled Too True. John Paul lives in the City of Liverpool.
The Poet and Author: works include five large volumes of poetry, four art books and the official biographies of two Italian saints: Clare of Assisi and Gemma Galgani of Lucca.
The Songwriter: Having worked up close back in the heady photographic days of the 80s and 90s with fab artists including Duran Duran, Dee Dee Ramone, OMD and Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones and in recent times collaborating with many groups and singers who kindly helped out with the books; bands such as Saxon, Nazareth, Hawkwind, Supertramp, Lindisfarne, Canned Heat and solo singers Kiki Dee, Judie Tzuke and Suzanne Vega has brought us back to songwriting days rediscovering a handful of early songs (thought lost), some written from a time in a short lived 70s band plus brand new original indie live demo material that is being prepared for future release.
